From Idea to SaaS MVP in 8 Weeks

How we took a client's concept and turned it into a working SaaS product in just two months — the tools, the stack, and the lessons learned.

One of our favorite projects last year was helping a client go from a napkin sketch to a working SaaS MVP in just 8 weeks. Here's how we did it.

Week 1-2: Discovery & Scoping. We worked closely with the client to define the core features, user personas, and success metrics. We ruthlessly cut scope to focus on what mattered most for the first version.

Week 3-4: Architecture & Foundation. We set up the tech stack (Next.js, PostgreSQL, Stripe) and built the authentication system, database schema, and API layer.

Week 5-6: Core Features. This is where the magic happened. We built the primary user-facing features and the admin dashboard. Daily standups kept everything on track.

Week 7: Polish & Testing. We focused on UX refinements, error handling, and thorough testing. We also set up monitoring and logging.

Week 8: Launch. We deployed to production, onboarded the first beta users, and set up the feedback loop for iteration.

The key to shipping in 8 weeks? Saying no to nice-to-haves and focusing relentlessly on the core value proposition.
